Sophie: “Since April 2024, I’ve been pouring WDL’s extensive expertise into a sleek package. For example, I make sure you receive our newsletter on time and that you stay up to date with our latest news through the social media pages. I keep the website updated and coordinate collaborations with outside companies. And have you attended any of WDL’s events? I am the one who makes sure everything is done to perfection!

From coffee bar to WDL

Before joining WDL, I owned a coffee bar in Nijmegen and Arnhem. Entrepreneurship, tackling, hospitality, that’s in there! Hard work, but with great pleasure. I built two beautiful locations into busy hospitality businesses. Nevertheless, at the end of 2023, I decided to sell my company and look for a new challenge.

I have found that challenge! I recently started working at WDL with great pleasure. A small, friendly team, where the lines are short and the message is clear. It is super cool to be able to help build a company where there is so much knowledge and experience.

A pinch of this, a dash of that

On my day off, I like to spend hours in the kitchen; I love to cook and bake. I’m even a member of a cooking club. Ottolenghi’s cookbooks are a favorite, but really following a recipe step by step, I don’t. A pinch of this, a taste, a dash of that.

And, of course, I am super fond of my two little sons aged 2 and 8 months. When the sun shines the three of us go out on the cargo bike. Get some fresh air in the Oeffelt outdoors!”
