Introducing: Maykel Hermanussen

Geschreven door Maykel Hermanussen

Function: Corporate Account Manager Onboarded since: September 2022 Maykel Hermanussen: "From my role, I have contact with intermediaries all day long about case histories and their clients' financing requests. From these contacts, we try to filter and screen good financings for our investors and our funds. Upon agreement with a borrower, I conduct a thorough analysis of the business and its financing application. We submit these to interested parties to enter, also providing them with a sharp content analysis of the application."

We lay out, as it were, a gift for

The value I add from my role is to identify the risks in the funding requests we receive. Investors can get a good look under the hood through our analysis and opinion and get a good idea for themselves about investment opportunities and possible risks. This allows them to make a good trade-off in the returns offered. We present a “gift,” so to speak, and they get to decide for themselves whether to step in on that proposal. What is important about our approach is that we absolutely do not sugarcoat it. We present exactly why, for example, a regular Large Bank does not take up the case. In addition, we always ensure a sound and market-based deal for both the borrower and the investor. And because we work with intermediaries we never wear two hats, something we do see happen quite often in the market.

"Investors can get a good look under the hood through our analysis and opinion and form a good picture for themselves."

Moving quickly and being creative with solutions

My workday is very varied and consists a lot of calling and being on the road. We would like to sit down with entrepreneurs to get a good picture of the case. That means a lot of mileage, but we are happy to do that. When I’m not on the road I’m in the Veghel office across from John, sifting through and ripping off funding requests. The reason I work for WDL is because it is a small organization where I work with experienced colleagues. There is a lot of knowledge available, allowing us to move quickly and be creative in solutions. In addition, I have a lot of freedom and flexibility in my role, which I greatly appreciate.

“A Burgundian on the move,” according to my couch

Together with Janneke and our 4 children we enjoy living in Eindhoven. So outside of work, I am nice and busy with family life. To stay somewhat fit, I try to go for a run 2-3 times a week. Based on the transactions in my checking account the other day, I got the typology “The energetic snoozer,” a Burgundian on the move. I thought that was an apt characterization. On Wednesday nights I play padel in the winter, and in the spring I take a round of golf. Around that, there will be a wet and dry! The transactions analyzed are thus well summarized! 😉

You may call me anytime

I like being in contact with people, so for a chat pot I don't run away either. Content is always welcome to call me for financial issues. Whether this is a financing question or some other financial challenge at hand. There is always a solution! I can be reached 06 57 26 38 44.

Mortgage as collateral: always good, right?

Important when investing in Private Debt is obtaining the right collateral to mitigate risk.
