Gemert property developer Bas van de Laar bought Gemert Castle in 2018. His dream? Transforming the centuries-old castle into a luxury 5-star hotel, while preserving its historical value.
A prestigious project, considering the size and investment it requires, but it fits Bas’ vision: doing good for the community as well as preserving historical heritage.
There was a financing issue for the 27-room expansion of the hotel in the Main Castle.
Through mediation by Niels Tak of Adelaer Financial Architects, Bas eventually ended up with Maykel Hermanussen of WDL Kredietfondsen.
Thanks in part to WDL Credit Funds’ careful analysis and sound investment and financing plan, the entrepreneur is another step closer to realizing his dream.
